Happy 2018 from the RETINA Roundup team! We hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and bringing in the New Year.
Things are back to business as usual this week (except the ‘bomb cyclone’ for us in the East Coast), and I assume most of us are back in clinics and ORs. That being said, we can’t ignore the fact that the mountains throughout the country are snowcapped, and many of us may be heading to the slopes as well.
Retina is known to have some of the best meetings in ophthalmology, many of which we cover in this blog. There is constant innovation in our field, so meetings are packed with exciting presentations, and usually coupled with great destinations.
Here is a list of upcoming ski meetings this year that may be of interest to you, in chronologic order. Please let me know if we missed any. One legendary ski meeting not included here (since it takes place every 3-4 years) is Vail Vitrectomy. History of the meeting can be found here in a nice Retina Today article by Michael Lambert.

Meeting Homepage: http://tellurideretinafilmfestival.org (most information will be found if you click “Invite” at the top right of the page
This is a new meeting organized by Armie Harper, Dave Brown, Virgilio Morales-Canton, and Szilard Kiss. We were able to touch base with Dr. Harper, who indicates that, “Telluride, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful places in North America. It’s a skier’s mountain, but over the last few years, they have really made it quite family friendly. This conference will be different as it features intraocular films, as it dovetails with the Telluride Film Festival tradition. The Telluride Conference Center has state of the art AV and seating. Anyone who is interested can email me at caharper@austinretina.com.”
