Welcome to San Antonio!
Our team at RETINA Roundup was busy last weekend in Chicago at Retina Society. In unusual fashion, the Retina Society and American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) meetings are on back to back weekends this year. The program looks exciting with new clinical trial data and innovative ideas. Congratulations to Judy Kim, program chair, Carl Awh, society president, and the entire ASRS team for putting together this meeting that overcame many logistic challenges in today’s world.
Some highlights of ASRS 2021 include photobiomodulation and oral medications for diabetic retinopathy, data from the INFINITY trial, suprachoroidal RGX-314 for diabetic retinopathy, first human results of a 256-electrode retinal prosthesis, and many more. We also look forward to the award lectures from recipients of the Pyron, Founders, Young Investigators, Crystal Apple, and Packo Awards, from both the 2020 and 2021 recipients.
Please stay tuned for ASRS 2021 coverage by our talented writers organized by our editorial team: Avni Finn, Matt Starr, and David Xu.
